LSP and ISIC
Being a student brings many great things, like discounts! But for having them, you need to have a validation of the student status and there are two options for that – LSP or ISIC.
LSP – or in English it is LSIC (Lithuanian student identity card). This is the main student identity card used in Lithuania and you get the most of discounts exactly with it: 50 percent discount for the public transportation is the best one. What is more important, only with this card you will be able to enter VU Central library located in the Central palace (Universiteto g. 3), also only with this card you will be able to use VU Library that works 24/7 (Saulėtekio al. 5) during the nighttime (from 9 PM till 9 AM). Trust us, during the exam session night studying at that library saved a lot of students from retaking the exams.

ISIC – international student identity card. This is the alternative to the student identity card, but you won’t be able to enter VU Central library and the VU Library that works 24/7 per night. Also, please note, that with this card this applies:
According to the legislation of the Republic of Lithuania and the European Union, public transport concessions apply to students who are:
1) citizens of the Republic of Lithuania;
2) citizens of other Member States of the European Union and the European Economic Area;
3) family members of citizens of the Member States of the European Union and the European Economic Area who hold a residence permit card of a family member of a Union citizen;
4) citizens of foreign states or stateless persons holding a temporary residence permit in the Republic of Lithuania;
5) citizens of foreign states or stateless persons holding a long-term residence permit of the Republic of Lithuania for the European Union.
Important: The International Student Identity Card is valid for a period of up to 16 months counting from the 1st of September of the current year until the end of the following year.
